Scottish Recipes
Scottish food is at its best when cooked with a little imagination. The personal, unique touch of the individual has given us so much versatility.

For example, when you think of the variations that can be produced with the humble potato, the mind boggles. I mean, how many ways is there to make chips? Not to mention boiled, roasted, sautéd, baked, mashed potatoes or fritters. (I wonder where I'm going with this!!)

Oh yes, the point is this : Whether you're cooking a simple plate of chips or a gourmet meal, your 'recipe for success' will be different from that of anyone else. That's why we should share our traditional Scottish recipes.

I've asked you to send me your recipes to publish here, and it won't matter if your speciality is 'Mince and Tatties' and it's already here, send it anyway, and there will be a link from this page to your own recipe.

Traditional Recipes

  • Clootie Dumpling

  • Haggis, Neeps and Tatties

  • Highland Toffee

  • Mince and Tatties

  • Scotch Broth (2)
  • Scotch Eggs

  • Scottish Shortbread

  • Scottish Tablet
  • Och, I know it's not much, but it's coming along quite nicely, and it really is up to you guys, so send me your recipes and just watch this list grow. I'd add my own secret recipe but you probably know how to make toast.

    Thanks in advance, John.
