Events in Scotland present a cultural treat for theatre, sport and music lovers, and for those of you looking for something out of the ordinary.

The biggest event in Scotland's history is about to take place, and arrangements are being made now for the innovative Homecoming Scotland 2009.

If you plan to visit anywhere near the city of Edinburgh in August, then please BOOK EARLY. Our capital city is buzzing with festivals and events that attract overseas visitors in large numbers, to experience the true flavour of Scottish culture.

And it's little wonder when you see what's on offer.

Events in Scotland are absolutely booming, especially in the capital with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, along with the magnificent and universally popular Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which are two of the biggest Scotland events on our annual calendar.

The Festival offers workshops for budding writers, traditional music and dance, the 36-hours Festival Film Programme, free art exhibitions, puppet workshops and creative writing classes for children. Read More About The Edinburgh Fringe Festival

The Tattoo is probably the most spectacular of Scotland events, and the largest outdoor event in Edinburgh, attracting a worldwide tv audience of 100 million, and over 200,000 attending the live show. Read More About The Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Another of the most popular Scotland events not
to be missed is the fabulous and much celebrated Edinburgh Hogmanay Party, which is the world's biggest New Year bash, and it is also one of the safest and friendliest outdoor events in the world. Read More About The Edinburgh Hogmanay Party

The summer months have a packed programme of Scotland events with the Highland Games. The grand finale of the season is the Braemar Gathering, which is held on the first Saturday in September each year, and is always attended by a member of the Royal Family. The Highland Games

magical Christmas illuminations in place, it really is a beautiful sight.

Another of the great Scotland events starting late November is Edinburgh's Christmas, with most of the action taking place around Princes Street Gardens.
