Scotland Events July 2008
Highlights of the month include the Barclays Scottish Open, the Hebridean Celtic Festival, and the major music festival T in the Park. Barclays Scottish Open 10th - 13th Jul 2008, Loch Lomond The Loch Lomond course sees an outstanding group of players from around the world compete in the Barclays Scottish Open Golf Championship. T in the Park 11th - 13th Jul 2008, Balado, Perthshire 35,000 tickets for the 2008 festival have already been sold for what has become one of the major European Music Festivals. The Classic Malts Cruise 12th - 24th July 2008, West Coast Over 100 yachts from all over Europe will set sail from Oban on a 200 mile trip, calling at some famous coastal whisky distilleries on this popular sailing event. Hebridean Celtic Festival 16th - 19th July 2008, The Hebrides Traditional and contemporary music feature in the Hebridean Celtic Festival, and with ceilidhs, childrens' activities and workshops, a great time s guaranteed at this popular festival. Inverness Highland Games 19th & 20th Jul 2008, Inverness World Championship Games for Heavies aged over forty. Scotland's biggest inter-clan gathering features traditional music and highland dancing in the most spectacular Highland Games event. Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival 25th Jul - 3rd August 2008, Edinburgh Outdoor concerts on the streets and all sorts of venues, with international artistes performing in the longest-running jazz festival in the UK. Speyfest 31st July - 3rd August 2008, Fochabers, Moray Northern Celtic Festival has a wonderful weekend with a special programme for young people. Modern music and concerts, Celtic rock and ceilidhs with musicians from all over the world. Edinburgh Art Festival 31st July - 31st August 2008, Edinburgh Now in its' fifth year, the Edinburgh Art Festival returns with exhibitions of the works of Picasso, Andy Warhol, William Blake and Turner shortlist nominee Nathan Coley.
